One of our previous cats was a shrimp addict. He would actually climb up the leg of any human peeling shrimp. (You might want to try this the next time your humans open a can.) The same cat was known to leap from the floor to a human's shoulder-- from behind--with no warning. His family recognized the funny mrowr he made as he began this athletic endeavor, but guests had were usually completely surprised. .
